Custom Warbird fuel cells. Each custom Warbird fuel cell requires attention to the old fuel cell dimensions as well as customer specifications for adapting the new fuel cell to the existing fuel system. Although it is possible to manufacture a heavy-duty bladder fuel cell 'body' replacement, it isn't always possible to fabricate exact 'molded fitting' replacements for most of the (now obsolete) fitting attachments contained on some of these old fuel tanks. Be advised: It almost always becomes necessary to 'convert/adapt' certain aspects of the existing 'self sealing' fuel tank system to modern and available fittings and attachments. If custom machining of the metal parts is necessary it is the customer's responsibility to provide the necessary specifications or parts. In most cases the customer can sub-contract out the machining of metal parts needed to adapt the new tank to the existing fuel system for cheaper than we can.
Multiple factors are considered and determined into the cost of the fuel cell: shape, size, complexity, cut-outs, notches, compound angles, curves, arcs, fittings (type, number and locations), baffle compartments, foam baffling, etc.
